Vision for Child Development in Africa (VICDA)
We're proud to offer ongoing support to VICDA through PIMS (Psychologically Informed Management Systems).

VICDA works in Uganda, specifically within refugee camps. They understand the profound and long-term impact that trauma can have on individuals, families, and children. They support teachers and families to understand the effects of trauma and what needs to happen within a community to navigate these challenges.

Our support provides VICDA with regular training and leadership support through PIMS. We help their leaders become more psychologically informed, which assists them in establishing systems that support those who have experienced trauma. They also support their teachers in adopting a Therapeutic Teaching approach, helping their students consistently access learning despite the trauma they have experienced.

The work they're doing is truly wonderful.

Deaf Choices UK
Deaf Choices UK is well-known for its work in delivering cued speech to communities, enabling children and families with hearing impairments to communicate effectively and access learning. Their work has empowered children and families nationwide to thrive in their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
Our partnership aims to investigate how visual communication strategies, such as cued speech (and more), can support a range of communication challenges. These include hearing impairments and verbal processing difficulties, among others. Through this collaboration, we will be better able to inform teachers about visual communication strategies at both the individual and whole-class levels, making the task of learning more enjoyable for everyone.
